Truth in Politics

I would like to know where I can go to find unbiased, truthful information about State and local candidates that are running for office. I simply do not trust or believe the ads you see on TV. Everyone is pointing the finger and making accusations instead of sticking to issues and facts. Facts that can be verified are the only facts I want to hear. I am sure there is probably a site somewhere for each state, I just haven't been able to find it yet. So if anyone can help, it would be appreciat

Not Welcome

As we consider the Senate race this year and think about voting for the incumbent, Cornyn, I would like to speak about my personal experience in visiting his Washington office.

Great slogans that define a campaign

Sometimes a campaign slogan says it all.

I am attending the Netroots Nation convention in Austin, Texas and stopped by the exibit booth of Nick Carter who is running for the US Senate in the state of Wyoming...yes a/k/a the home state of our VP Dick Cheney.

But you would know that by his campaign slogan alone...MAKE DICK SEE RED...TURN HIS HOME STATE BLUE.

Good luck future senator...

Never underestimate the stupidity of the voting public.

News from Texas.

The democratic primary for US senate had three contestants. Richard Noriega, a congressman. Ray McMurrey, a school teacher and Gene Kelly an attorney, not the dancer from the movies.

The results were as follows: Noriega 51%, Kelly 27% anf McMurrey 12%.

Noriega was expected to win. He did.

Now to the other two. McMurrey, although running in his first race for office actively campaigned acros the state; debated Noriega and poured his heart and soul into the race. Sooo...who did he come in second to?

Ray McMurrey for US Senate

He is taking on Senator Cornyn. David vs Goliath to be sure, but give the guy credit for his passion.

Other mortals have tried to infiltrate the establishment without much success, but it is good to see that there are people left who will not give up on the goal of returning the political process to the people.

The Texas Governor's Power

As Governor George W. Bush ran for President in 2000, reporters and pundits trotted out sound-bite versions of a lesson students have been taught about Texas for years: Compared to the U.S. President or the chief executives of other states, the Texas Governor occupies a "weak" office.
