We are exchanging spies that are not supposed to exist.
Really??
In this day and age, do we really need spies to start with?
Is that not what google is for??
National Races
Really, we are not spying on each other.
- Posted by AmazedBP is testing our two party system.
- Posted by AllenThe BP oil spill is testing more than our gulf coast.
It is testing our two party system. (No, I did not forget the libertarians, the tea partiers or the communists.)
Before the spill, it was not that hard to figure out how either party would react to any issue. Abortion, crime, big government, big business.
The spill has redefined it all. What happens when big business causes a disaster that affects the environment and causes economic harm to vast republican enclaves?? Mass confusion.
Liar, Liar, dress on fire.
- Posted by citizenKSenator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, fresh from an embarrasing loss to Tea Party candidate, Governor Rick Perry of the country of Texas, makes good on a campaign promise by reversing a promise to resign her senate seat.
Her reasoning: she is needed in the Senate. Well senator, if you think your job in Washington was not done, then why did you run in the first place for a position that would have taken you away from a place that so desperatly needs you?
The simple answer, she is a liar who knows that there are no consequences.
McCain/Palin; so, who is wearing the pants now.
- Posted by citizenKHow strange and what a turn of events!
McCain, during the 2008 presidential race, out of pure desperation, and clearly regretting the decision later, picked Palin to energize his campaign.
There may be some who disagree, but most think and rightly so, that she did not help, and maybe even lost the race for him.
Now, as he battles to keep his senate seat, who does he turn to for help? Leather jacket wearing, Palin. Is that desperate or what??
The outcome of that race is now certain.
The GOP is clearly drinking the Tea.
- Posted by AllenIt is obvious that the Tea Party is mostly comprised of radical, biggoted, fanatical, absurd, far far right religiously misguided and uneducated white conservatives that suck on the government's tit in real life, while professing to be anti government, i.e. the black dude in their White House.
Now, who in their right mind would embrace these types? Who, in their right mind would allign themselves with their ideas?
Well, the GOP of course. The last few elections have made that clear.
These days...we will always be the loosers
- Posted by citizenKHave you noticed how recent elections dont really mean anything?
Take Texas, for example, please.
Perry, the career politician is facing Hutchinson, the career politician. What do we get? Career politicians without new ideas. We lose.
For lieutenant governor we have a choice between a delli king and a former district attorney who hates to be alone in his retirement. What do these guys want? What do we get? Nothing. Whoever we choose, we are the loosers.
Why Meg Whitman is a Go, Kinky Friedman is a No, and Palin is a No Go.
- Posted by JackMeg Whitman, the former boss of eBay is running for governor of California. And she should. So should more people that know anything about running a business and nothing about politics. Not that she does not know about politics, who doesnt. But she know how to run a business and that is what we need right now, as Washington is spending billions and has no idea what they are doing.
The new age of Stunt Politics
- Posted by JackIt all started innocently enough. A national campaign, in real trouble, needs a boost. A sane decision just will not do it. It would take a stunt or two to bring it back to life, even if ever so briefly.
That was of course the tactic of John Mccain. First, he suspended his campaign for a couple of days to deal with the economic crisis. What a stupid stunt!! Then, he picked Sarah Palin for his running mate. What a second stupid stunt!!
But hey, if that is the new trend in politics, why not try it again?
Specter switches parties and goes to the back of the line. WOW!
- Posted by AmazedSpecter may have made the blunder of his political life when he switched parties and became a democrat.
He immediatly lost his seniority and therefore his powerful positions on key senate committees.
Maybe he just switch back. Its like the 5 second rule. You drop something on the floor but its ok to eat it as long as it gets picked up in less than 5 seconds.
Or maybe its a sign that he is past his prime and should just pack it in.
