Dear Sarah, its earmarks, not earings.

Palin keeps repeating the refrain, that she has not and will not take earmarks and will say no to the offer to waste taxpayers' money on her state or any other.

Together with her new, old, friend, McCain, she will save millions if not billions of dollars by stopping the politics of old and ushering a new era into Washington.

OK. Stop reading the tele prompters. You took millions in earmarks. You hired high powered lobbysts to get earmarks. You spent the earmarks.

(OK. You bought your own lipstick. )

Lipstick comment was appropriate.

Obama says he did not mean to mock Palin's lipstick comment. Even if true, which I cannot believe, it was an appropriate use of the famous expression.

Other than lipstick, what exactly is Palin's talent and contribution to the republican ticket?

She is facing an investigation into her abuse of power; she lies about the "bridge to nowhere"; she took plenty of earmark money, which she now rejects; she mispent taxpayers' money on dubious reimbursements; and she has that screecheeeee voice that could annoy a deaf person.

Democrats keep getting caught with female prostitutes...Republicans jelous!

Republicans demanded that Governor Spitzer resign immediatly after the news broke that he was involved with a female prostitute.

Republicans just cannot stand it that their sex scandals almost always involve boys/men and the democrats seem to prefer women.

But seriously; as long as we keep thinking that the people we elect are of higher and better moral fiber than the rest of us, this kind of news will always come as a surprise.

Get over it and enjoy the news. A welcome break from the campaign.

The Texas Governor's Power

As Governor George W. Bush ran for President in 2000, reporters and pundits trotted out sound-bite versions of a lesson students have been taught about Texas for years: Compared to the U.S. President or the chief executives of other states, the Texas Governor occupies a "weak" office.
