It all started innocently enough. A national campaign, in real trouble, needs a boost. A sane decision just will not do it. It would take a stunt or two to bring it back to life, even if ever so briefly.
That was of course the tactic of John Mccain. First, he suspended his campaign for a couple of days to deal with the economic crisis. What a stupid stunt!! Then, he picked Sarah Palin for his running mate. What a second stupid stunt!!
But hey, if that is the new trend in politics, why not try it again?
So like her mentor, Palin decides to try a stupid stunt of her own. Resign as governor of Alaska with more then a year and a half to go!!!!
It has to be a stunt, because nothing else makes sense.
So...welcome to the new age of politics. Stunts, not substance. Stunts, not common sense. Stunts, content for the 24/7 cable news. Stunts, because the voting public simply buys it.
