OK. So what is the deal with these tea parties? Is there nothing good on tv? Why are these people out there? Big government? High taxes?
I think they are protesting for they know not what they protest against.
Lets try this for a while: no government, i.e.
No public schools...pay for your own schooling.
No public roads...pay tolls to some private entity.
No police or firefighters...hire your own for protection.
No social security...just save.
No minimum wage...
No health insurance...pay for it yourself.
No disaster relief...
Someone please complete the list! Life would be so much easier.

Your missing the point. Is not that the Tea Party Protesters don't want any government. Obviously some of the items you listed are things that the government should provide. Health insurance is not provided by the government it is a private industry. These protesters are upset because they feel the government is wastefully spending money. They are uneasy with this level of government intervention of the private sector and that it only adds to the size of the federal government. The larger the government becomes the less freedom people have in the long run AKA Communist or Fascist. Obviously the government is not there yet, but taking this country from 1 trillion in debt to 10 trillion is a big jump in 100 days of a new presidency. Also these tea parties although somewhat supported by Fox News and the GOP were not funded by either of these organizations. All ethnicities made up these events with Democrats and Republicans attending. These people wanted to give the message that this is not partisan and they blame Republicans as much as Democrats. Sadly they were marginalized by the mainstream media and told they were racist and crazies. I wonder why the mainstream media didn't feel that way about people who protested the war and had riots in the street.
