Seriously, what did The Change Team, Obama and the Democratic Party congressional leadership, really expect would happen? If you give money to someone, whether the sign-carrying roadside panhandler or the top dogs at AIG or any other "crucial-to-the-survival-of-the-economy" sinkhole, do you really expect them to do? You can tell yourself the panhandler will buy a hot lunch, or maybe some clean clothes. Perhaps your handful of spare change is what finally put him or her over the top, save them from the streets, homelessness and substance abuse. Give the panhandler $5, $20, and you should expect that human nature will follow its traditional course. Give the panhandler millions and billions of dollars, and why should expect any significant change in behavior? The top dogs at AIG or any of the other initialized industries Obama and the Congress have earmarked for Change are simply following the basic tenets of human nature. The more you give, the more they'll take. Where does the idea come from that millions and billions of dollars will take the place of political and moral will and old-fashioned leadership-by-example to drag our nation and economy out of the sinkhole? The Change Team has entitled more millionaires and billionaires than the Republicans under either Bush administration did, and with more devastating results. Is this what we bought? This promise of Change? We're not even at the 100-day mark of The Change Team's reign, and we're already slipping past the point of no return.
What did The Change Team expect?
