Who won in Vegas? The Debate, I mean.

I almost hate to admit that I watched the whole thing.

It started with everyone venting. That was entertaining but not informative. It ended with me, again, not learning anything other than the fact that Blitzer of CNN is a master of asking "when did you stop beating your wife" questions.

What was that nonsense about if you had to pick between national security and human rights what would you do question. When does that come up in the real world. At least it had one positive effect. It stumped Richardson who got it wrong.

The debates are becoming useless as long as everybody is still being invited. The ones without a chance are hardly called upon and do nothing for the dialogue.

So, who won? CNN.

What happened with intelligent people asking semi tough questions of the candidates and sometimes forcing them to actually answer.

My idea: tell the candidates in advance on what topics they need to present a short position speech and then let the others try to tear them down.
