I am possibly the most opinionated individual you are apt to run into. That being said, I’ll launch into one of my favorite subjects, ”Professional Entertainers”. By my definition, a professional entertainer is one who entertains the public and gets paid for it. Now that's pretty straight forward. This embraces actors, athletes, and anyone who gets paid by the public as they ply their trade.
Where's this going? Its really simple, actors use makeup and costumes and phony accents. Athletes use costumes and pharmaceuticals to enhance their performance.
Occasionally, both these groups use illegal narcotics (or Drugs) if you prefer, for recreation and alcohol is in this category.
I personally don’t care if the athletes use things like steroids to improve their performance. if they want to bring themselves to an early grave that's their business, they are doing nothing more in my opinion than an actor using makeup or having plastic surgery to change their appearance.
Therefore, I resent the intrusion into professional enhancement of their performance by our well meaning politicians, so long as it does not affect their ability to drive an automobile or fly a plane, or operate a boat, and thereby endanger the general public.
I really don’t give a rats posterior if these professional entertainers follow these basic rules of safety, and if I want to believe in the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or professional ‘rasslers, that's my personal business, not the federal legislature.

Oh, I sooooo agree. I would
Oh, I sooooo agree.
I would put it differently however. Let them take steroids or whatever, actually for the high prices we pay for tickets lets force them to do so, and then let the games begin and see which of the hyped up freeks of the new order win. Now that is a competition worth watching and paying for.
